This allows you to choose the seat that you think best in terms of social distancing while still enjoying the information passed on by your guide.
All our vehicles are equipped with an onboard P/A system that allows you to hear the commentary of your driver/guide no matter where you are seated. Also, there is free Wi-Fi access on all tour vehicles. Bottled water is also available in all our vehicles.
Depart from Strasbourg and reach the Route des Vins d'Alsace
Your private tour will first take you to the Barr/Andlau wine producing region. Here, taste fabulous Rieslings that originate from the Kirchberg (marl and limestone), Wiebelsberg (sandy sandstone) and Moenchberg (marls, limestone and slate) Grands Crus.
The hallmark of Alsace Grand Crus wines is their minerality. Some of the most famous wine makers that produce these Grands Crus include Kreydenweiss, Stoeffler or Albert Seltz. We will stop in one of the local wineries for a wine tasting session of the local Grands Crus.
Visit the Fantastic Grand Cru: Frankstein
Then, move on to discover a most unique and confidential Grand Cru: Frankstein (literally ‘the stone of the French’). Divided into several sectors of the charming little town of Dambach la Ville, this Grand Cru is characterized by a complex geological substratum, combining granite on its upper parts with shelly limestone, with sandstone lower down.
Depending on availability, it will also be the moment to discover biodynamic winemaking (a form of alternative agriculture very similar to organic farming, but which includes various esoteric concepts) in wineries such as Domaine Schaeffer Woerly or Beck-Hartweg.
Try the Unique Muscats of Alsace & Taste the Local Gewurztraminer
Finally reach the southern part of the Alsace wine route near Ribeauvillé and discover emblematic Grands Crus such as Altenberg, Kanzlerberg, Osterbrg. It is in this part of the wine region that you will discover local Muscat. Alsace Muscat is distinguished from the sweet Muscats of the South of France by its dry character.
Extremely aromatic, it expresses wonderful flavors of fresh fruit. We will also have you taste some exceptional Gewürztraminers that originate from local Grand Crus. These are full-bodied wine, with solid structure and a round fullness. In tasting these wines, one rediscovers the complete aromatic palette, often with the addition of licorice.
Harvested very ripe, “late harvest” and “Selection de Grains Nobles” Gewurztraminer ranging from sweet to viscous, possess exceptional richness and extraordinary aromatic complexity.
Return to Strasbourg after the final tasting.
