Here are the main Paris monuments and attractions we suggest visiting:
Place de la Concorde:
This grand square, designed by renowned French architect Gabriel in the mid-1700s, features two monumental buildings, the Crillon Hotel Palace, and the General Staff of the Navy. In the center stands the famous obelisk of Louxor, a gift from Egypt, surrounded by two fountains. During your stop here, our private guide will share the square's historical significance and the events that unfolded during the French Revolution.
Garnier National Opera:
Marvel at one of the world's most famous opera houses. Designed by Charles Garnier in 1860, the façade showcases numerous sculptures. Inside, the Great Staircase and 'Grand Foyer' exude opulence. The ceiling of the Grand Room was painted by March Chagall in 1964. The Opera is also renowned for being the setting of Gaston Leroux's novel, Phantom of the Opera.
Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe:
No Paris tour would be complete without a drive along the Champs Elysées avenue. This iconic mile-long avenue is often hailed as the most beautiful in the world and remains one of the most exclusive. Retaining its chestnut trees, theaters, and a few restaurants from the mid-1800s, the latter part of the avenue now features cinemas, cafés, and upscale stores.
The Eiffel Tower:
Undoubtedly the most famous monument in Paris, this magnificent metal tower was constructed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Universel Exhibition. Originally planned for dismantling 20 years later, the tower was saved due to its strategic significance, thanks to scientific studies financed by Gustave Eiffel. Please note that the tour does not include a visit to the Eiffel Tower.
Place des Vosges:
Located in the Marais district, this stunning square dates back to the reign of King Henri IV. Its architecture showcases ground-floor arches, two levels adorned with high slate-tiled roofs, and charming dormer windows.
Montmartre:
Nestled atop a 130-meter hill, Montmartre offers panoramic views of Paris. Once a rural area adorned with vineyards and mills, it became a haven for artists, including Toulouse Lautrec, Picasso, and Van Gogh. Explore the enchanting streets, squares, and picturesque staircases that reveal magical vistas of Paris. Take time to visit the Sacre Coeur Basilica and the lively Place du Tertre.
At the conclusion of this day tour, we will drop you off at your Paris accommodation. Alternatively, we can drop you off at a restaurant or bar of your choice. Feel free to inquire about our night tours, Palace of Versailles tours, or walking tours in the Marais or Latin Quarter with your guide.
