Convenient pick‑up at Le Havre Cruise Port
Your day begins with pick‑up directly at your cruise ship in Le Havre. Your English‑speaking driver/guide will be waiting outside the terminal with a sign bearing the lead traveler’s name. After introductions and a quick overview of the itinerary, board your premium air‑conditioned vehicle, equipped with a PA system for live commentary, and relax on the scenic 1.5–2 hour drive to Giverny.
Explore Giverny and Claude Monet’s gardens
Arrive in the village of Giverny, where Claude Monet lived and worked for more than 40 years. Your guide will escort you to the entrance to begin your visit of Monet’s house and gardens (entrance tickets not included and to be purchased at booking).
- Claude Monet’s house
Step inside Monet’s beautifully preserved home. Explore the reading room and first studio, then continue upstairs to the private apartments, including Monet’s bedroom, Alice’s room, and Blanche’s room, decorated with period furniture, reproductions of works by Monet’s artist friends, and his collection of Japanese prints. Return to the ground floor to see the bright yellow dining room and the traditional kitchen. - The Clos Normand garden
In front of the house, wander through the Clos Normand, a flower garden designed by Monet as a living canvas. Depending on the season, admire beds filled with tulips, irises, poppies, peonies, roses, and many other blooms arranged in harmonious layers of color and height, with a central path framed by climbing plants and fruit trees. - The water garden
Cross under the road to reach the water garden, entirely created by Monet by diverting a small stream. Walk along the pond surrounded by willows, bamboo, and Japanese maples, and pause on the iconic Japanese bridge overlooking the water lilies that inspired his famous “Nymphéas” (Water Lilies) series.
Important note: Entrance tickets to Giverny are not included in the tour price and must be purchased during the booking process. Your guide will adapt the visit to match the ticket option you choose.
Lunch and stop in Honfleur
After your visit, enjoy some free time for lunch (at own expense) in or near Giverny, where your guide can recommend cafés or restaurants. In the afternoon, begin the journey back toward Le Havre with a stop in Honfleur, one of Normandy’s most picturesque harbor towns.
- Enjoy a short guided walking tour to get your bearings.
- Stroll cobbled streets lined with half‑timbered houses, art galleries, and boutique shops.
- Admire the Vieux Bassin, Honfleur’s postcard‑perfect old harbor, and capture memorable photos.
