The Koifhus: This is the Old customs building strategically located at the crossroads of the Grand'Rue and the rue des Marchands. The building dates back to the early 15th century and was used as the meeting place of the deputies of the Décapole which was the federation of the 10 imperial cities of Alsace.

From the outside the building still retains some medieval features but its storey corner oriel, its galleries, its octagonal turret and its mural paintings are perfect examples of the changes that were taking place in those days. The house is named after the family who restored it in the last quarter of the 19th century.
